How-To Make Doggie Pumpkin Spice Lattes
So why Doggie Pumpkin Spice Latte
Besides it currently being Pumpkin Spice Season, a few weeks ago, Indo ate something outside that he had absolutely shouldn't have, which in return caused him to have a tummy ache. Pumpkin was the miracle food that he could keep down, and in return, I have tons of leftover pumpkin. I have already maybe doggie candy corn, click here for that recipe, Pumpkin Spice lattes seemed fitting.
Whenever I hit a Starbucks, he is always looking for his puppuccino, and in the morning, when I make smoothies, he's always looking around for his smoothie. Hence, I decided to make his day with a Doggie Pumpkin Spice Latte minus the caffeine and dairy, of course. Watch along on Youtube here.
What's in a Doggie Pumpkin Spice Latte?
Ingredients:
1 Cup of Goat or Coconut Milk
1 Cup of Pumpkin Puree ( 100% pumpkin)
Dash of Cinnamon
Dash of Ground Ginger
Organic whipping cream or Greek yogurt
Is the Doggie Pumpkin Spice Latte Healthy
Not only does the Doggie Pumpkin Spice Latte taste good, it's also healthy.
Pumpkin contains vitamins A & C, magnesium, potassium, and iron. It is also high in fiber, which aids with digestion.
For the milk, you can use either coconut or goat. I planned on trying goat’s milk, which can aid digestion and help reduce inflammation since Indo is has had a few tummy issues lately, but my local store was sold out.
- Coconut is non-toxic to dogs, but it does contain medium-chain triglycerides, which may cause some gastrointestinal upset and bloat. Please check in with your veterinarian if you have any concerns. Indo is OK with coconut milk, but you can sub for goat milk also.
- Make sure you are using just pumpkin puree( 100% Pumpkin), not to be confused with pumpkin pie mix, which contains things that aren't so good for our fur babies.
