1. Wash your dog's bedding
Vacuuming your pet's bed will cut down on dust mites and hair shedding, but you should still wash your pet's bed in hot water once a month. I could go into ten reasons why but I will save us the time.
When washing your pet's bed, be sure to use a pet-safe detergent; if you aren't certain baby detergents and clear formula solutions, you are safe.
2. Trim your dog
Indo hair grows super fast, to keep him safe, I keep his eye and bum area are low. Please don't forget the bum. When it comes to his nails, I used an electronic file to smooth them down.
Luckily for Indo and I, The Bark Shoppe in Harlem is open, and they were able to bring Indo back to life ( plus I no longer have to trick him into keeping still). If you are in NYC, check them out for your next grooming visit, and they are blacked owned.
3. Make sure your dog's identification tags are up to date
Have you moved? Updated your phone number? Make sure their current tags aren't worn down. Please take a moment to make sure you can read all of the info on your dogs tag.
4. Rabies, Bordetella, oh my!
Depending on your furbaby lifestyle, they may need certain vaccinations to keep up appearances. Today is an excellent day to review your pup's medical history.
5. Protect your pet from bug bites
Bugs can be annoying, not to mention harmful to our pets. Mosquito bites can lead to unnecessary scratching and even heart disease in dogs. They can't tell us what's wrong, or always get to the itch—using pet safe dog repellent elevates these issues. In Pups We Trust bug repellent is all-natural and is perfect for your pet and their bedding. Click here to learn more.
6. Check your dog's weight.
Quarantine has gotten the best of us all. If your dog has been getting less exercise, your pup may have packed on some quarantine weight.
Quick Weighing your dog tip:
If your dog doesn't stay on the scale, weigh yourself, then get on the scale with your pup. Subtract your weight and viola.
If Fido is gaining some extra weight, you may want to cut some snacks and add an extra walk.
7. Let your pup enjoy some fruits!
A summertime favorite and watermelon is perfect for hot days. Click here to read Totally Safe Fruits for Dogs.
